My debut book, Society Fashion in Malta: the portrait photographer Leandro Preziosi 1830-1869, published by Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti in 2022, is based on my Master dissertation in the History of Art, exploring Malta’s earliest portrait photography through the work of Leandro Preziosi. Focusing on the dress of his sitters, the book reveals how European fashion trends were adopted and adapted locally, blending personal taste with their continued everyday use of the traditional faldetta. The book was awarded The National Book Prize for Best Book Production 2023.
